Afterschool Program Group Officer
Makeda is a sophomore from Boston, Massachusetts, currently living in Eliot House and concentrating in History of Science. She first got involved with PBHA during her freshman fall as a volunteer for Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment (BRYE) Extension, and later became a director for the next two semesters. As a member of the First Generation Student Union and native of Roxbury, she enjoys working with youth from refugee and immigrant families in communities that she’s grown up in. Outside of PBHA, she works at the Hip-Hop Archive and Research Institute, is a Peer Advising Fellow, and is the co-director of this year’s Black Arts Festival.
