Supports Adult Services Program Group Officer; Immigrant, Dorchester, Chinatown, Prisoner Education Programs
The PBHA Directors of Programs (four in all) support student PBHA program directors. They ensure that program run effectively, responsibly, and safely. They work in conjunction with program directors to plan for the semester, do site visits, and write evaluations of the program. Finally, they provide institutional memory as program directors change each year. They report directly to PBHA’s Deputy Director.
While attending Boston College, Kerry was involved in a service learning program tutoring/mentoring teens at a group home and serving on the PULSE council. Kerry joined the Peace Corps after college, and worked in a high school in northeast Thailand for 2½ years and later worked in a refugee camp there for another 2 years. Afterwards, he worked for a refugee program in Chelsea for six years and as a social worker for the Department of Social Services for three years. Kerry provides trainings on teaching ESL, the immigration / refugee experience, and adult learning. He also speaks Thai and Lao.
