PBHA’s Harvard College Youth Leadership Initiative (HYLI) works with young people to develop the skills to become young leaders in their schools and communities. HYLI offers weekly leadership training, focusing on topics including communication, teamwork, time management, ethics, and resource management. Students meet weekly with college volunteers to engage in hands-on learning activities and field trips throughout the Boston area. The semester culminates in a community-based final project led by each student.
Participation in HYLI is open to middle schools students enrolled in public or charter schools in Cambridge. The program operates each Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Harvard’s campus.
