PBHA’s EnviroEd engages elementary school students in Cambridge Public Schools in environmentally-focused afterschool programming. Students learn about the world around them and the environmental challenges that face their generation. EnviroEd promotes a hands-on approach to learning, minimizing lecturing and focusing on activities and games to teach young people the scientific and ecological principles behind issues such as food sustainability, rainforest loss, wetland degradation, and climate change.
Volunteering with EnviroEd
Through exciting curriculum developed in conjunction with professional educators, volunteer teachers establish a close relationship with students and watch their environmental knowledge grow. Volunteers teach one-hour, weekly lessons to their classes over a nine week semester.
EnviroEd runs Monday through Thursday, and is especially looking for new volunteers who are interested in education or environmental awareness.
