Fall 2020

Status: Active

Roxbury Youth Initiative Term-Time (RYIT) provides Roxbury youth with a high quality, enriching afterschool experience. This fall, RYIT will operate virtually two days/week offering academic support and social recreation.

PBHA’s Roxbury Youth Initiative Term (RYIT) provides continuous, year-round academic and emotional support to young people participating in the Roxbury Youth Initiative (RYI) summer program. RYIT offers academic homework help and a safe, educational space for youth after the school day.

RYIT follows a model of positive youth development, seeking to build on young peoples’ strengths and community assets. Through hands on enrichment activities and field trips, RYIT allows participating youth to explore their neighborhood, gain academic skills and confidence, and learn from positive role models.

RYIT serves young people ages 8 to 12 living in Roxbury especially those living in the Academy Homes I and II housing developments. The program is based in New Academy Estates Community Center from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

For more information about RYIT, visit the program’s website.
