Did you know that, according to the National Summer Learning Association, more than half of the opportunity gap between lower- and higher-income youth can be explained by unequal access to summer learning opportunities? As a result, low-income youth are less likely to graduate from high school or enter college (Alexander et al, 2007). SUP believes that education is a civil right--that's why this program provides families with an affordable summer camp that supports campers academically while also providing enriching field trips and workshops to ensure the well-rounded summer that every child deserves.

Yes, the Summer Urban Program helps youth grow -- in fact, our 11 lively day camps and evening ESL program for immigrant teens will serve more than 800 youth from Boston and Cambridge, providing hours of academic enrichment, field trips, and mentorship.
