PBHA Honors Mia Mingus at 15th Annual Robert Coles "Call of Service" Lecture & Award

Transformative and disability justice activist Mia Mingus was honored by the Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) on Friday, Oct. 15 with the 15th annual Robert Coles “Call of Service” Award, named for Robert Coles ’50, a civil rights activist, Pulitzer Prize winner, and retired Harvard professor. Mingus’ work on disability justice, ableism, and access has elevated disability rights dialogue across the country. Massachusetts Representative Liz Miranda and Harvard College Associate Dean of Inclusion and Belonging presented the award to Mingus.  More than 200 attendees tuned into Mingus's lecture with attendees ranging from students of all class years, alumni spanning several generations, and community members. Mingus answered questions from representatives from the Boston Center for Independent Living, Best Buddies, Harvard Prison Divestment Campaign, and the Asian American Resource Workshop.
